A Brief Overview Of Air Conditioning Vacuum Pumps

The main work of a vacuum pump in your car's air conditioning system is to remove air and moisture. Moisture can be very injurious to your automobile's conditioning system. An air conditioning vacuum pump creates a vacuum which removes the moisture in your car's air conditioning.

The procedure of using an air conditioning vacuum pump on your car is not rocket science.. It is a very simple and basic process. First of all you have to shut down the air conditioning and the engine of the car. Now you can use the vacuum pump.

While using a vacuum pump, do not try to hook it directly to the A/C system. First connect a refrigerant gauge manifold set to the low pressure port on the system. A refrigerant gauge manifold set is just like a blue hose that is connected to the gauges. A port is found in the middle of your gauge set. You have to attach the vacuum pump to this port.

With the help of gauge manifold set, you can turn off the vacuum pump without suffering a loss of vacuum. In case you connect the Air conditioning vacuum pump directly to your a/c, there is a chance that the vacuum will be lost as soon as you unscrew the connector from the port. The gauge also helps in measuring the vacuum and adding refrigerant to the system.

Now, you are ready to connect your refrigerant gauge manifold set and screw on your air conditioning vacuum pump to the center port. As soon as the vacuum reaches a pressure of 27 Hg, let the vacuum pump run for another 30 minutes. Then stop the center valve and shut the vacuum pump. Now, after connecting the gauges to the A/C system and you can take a break of 20 to 30 minutes.

After that, hold up the gauges and identify if there is still a vacuum. In case there is a vacuum there is probably a leak somewhere. If you find that the gauge still reads 27 Hg, you can add the refrigerant.

Start the car's engine and activate the a/c, while connecting the center port of your refrigerant manifold gauge to a refrigerant can. As the last step open the low pressure manifold and let the Freon flow into the a/c system.

Air conditioning vacuum pumps are available at the most-effective prices in the market today. The mini vacuum pump is available at the cost of $73. This pump is very small and weighs less than conventional air-powered vacuum pumps.

After comparing the prices of this pump to other air-powered or electric vacuum pumps, you can buy it online. An air conditioning vacuum pump helps to remove moisture or air from your automobile's air conditioning system and make your car air and moisture-free.
